PROJECT: Legacy in Action: Tulong Zambales
DATE: September 13, 2026 (Saturday)
VENUE: Sta. Fe, Zambales
BENEFICIARIES: Habagat-Affected Families
On September 13, 2026, the Rotary Club of Cubao West along side other District 3780 clubs all participated in conducting Legacy in Action: Tulong Zambales — Relief Goods Distribution for Habagat-Affected Families at Sta. Fe, Zambales.
Despite distance, The Legacy Presidents traveled to reach families who were severely affected by Habagat flooding — showing that RCCW service knows no boundaries in reaching a helping hand to those in need even outside their district.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY: Relief Goods Distribution: The Legacy Presidents distributed food packs, hygiene kits, and essential goods to Habagat-affected families in Sta. Fe, Zambales.
Community Assessment: Rotary District 3780 Legacy Presidents and members conducted brief kamustahan and needs assessment — listening to stories of families who lost homes, crops, and livelihood due to floods. Partnership with Local Community: Coordinated with local barangay leaders in Sta. Fe for organized and safe distribution. Hands-On Service: Members personally handed relief goods, showing compassion — not just donation, but connection. Legacy in Action: From Quezon City to Zambales — RCCW proved that Service Above Self means sending support and relief goods and vitamins to where help is needed.
RCCW PARTICIPATION: Led by President Portia Zarate Mendoza, RCCW members collectively donated cash of P5.000, 5 sacks of rice worth P1,600. Per sack = P8,000 and 144 boxes of PotenCee Vitamin C worth P350 per box worth P50,400. With total donations worth of P63,400 to Zambales, with relief goods and spirit of service. Members contributed cash, rice, vitamins and effort — packing, transporting, and distributing goods. Documentation of beneficiaries and distribution for transparency and District reporting.
IMPACT & BENEFITS: Disaster Response Accomplishment: Major points for Governor’s Visit — shows RCCW is responsive to disasters, aligned with Rotary’s Area of Focus: Disaster Response and Community Economic Development.
Community Service Beyond QC: RCCW serves not just Cubao, but also nearby provinces — expanding our reach and public image. Legacy of Compassion: Families in Sta. Fe, Zambales will remember RCCW not just for goods, but for caring when they needed it most.
Member Participation and making an impact to Zambales strengthened fellowship and commitment among members. Tulong Zambales on September 13, 2026 was more than relief distribution — it was Legacy in Action. While others stayed in the city, RCCW went to Sta. Fe, Zambales to bring hope to Habagat-affected families. This is what Passion and Purpose means.
This project will be highlighted under Community Service & Disaster Response.
